VISTA 2010—the district’s strategic plan—was based on feedback received during Superintendent John L. Barry's 90-day listening tour and a staff and community feedback phase that ended on Nov. 10, 2006.

Barry and the APS Board of Education reached out to the entire APS community to obtain views on the district and to learn what APS can do to ensure student success and approved the plan on Nov. 2006. The board adopted a second revised version in Nov. 2008.

VISTA 2010 set the future direction for APS and for the actions that each APS community member takes to increase student success.

With VISTA 2015, the APS Board of Education and Leadership Team plans to enhance the future direction of APS with continued input from staff, students and community members.
