ADA Compliance

Americans with Disabilities Act

The Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in several areas, including employment, transportation, public accommodations, communications and access to state and local government' programs and services.

Title IX Compliance

Title IX

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination based on sex (including sexual harassment, sexual violence, and gender-based harassment) in education programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance.

It is the goal of Aurora Public Schools that the information on its websites be accessible to individuals with visual, hearing or cognitive disabilities.

APS is committed to the policy that all persons shall have equal access to its programs, facilities, and employment and does not discriminate on the basis of race, age, color, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, pregnancy or childbirth, disability, religion, ancestry, sex or need for special education services, or genetic information for employment and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.

Title IV Equity Compliance

Title IV

Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 authorizes the Attorney General to address certain equal protections violations based on sex, among other bases, in public schools and institutions of higher education.

APS holds data privacy and security in high regard and takes action to ensure that our students’ data is handled securely in compliance with the Colorado Student Data Transparency and Security Act and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
